About Me
I’m a bit of a linux newbie, even though I’ve playing for a few years now: there’s still so much to learn! I setup and run gentoo linux based web and e-mail servers (including the one hosting this). I do some php and css web programming. I have a day job doing tech support (mostly windoze) in primary and secondary schools in Melbourne AU.
With all that work I’m kept pretty busy and when I do maintenance on my linux servers or need to set them up on new hardware, the notes I scribbled at the time are useless. I can’t remember exactly how things were setup because the server has run for 2 years without a stop!
So the purpose of this blog is to have my own personal “howto”s on the way I setup linux servers. Hopefully people can make some use of them and also help me make them better.
Additionally I’ll probably post embarrassing and naive rants that will upset people and make me look foolish. Thats what blogs are for isn’t it?
